Charlotte Bobcats at Utah Jazz

January 31st 2011 19:34
This has been a rough three days with the free picks. I am 2-1 with my paid plays but the free picks are 0-3 the last 3 days. I am going to get that back tonight. I am going to jump over to the NBA for my free pick tonight since the College Card is a smaller one ad the one play I like is going to be my College Play of the Day for my paid plays. So I am going to look at Charlotte at Utah tonight in the NBA.

The Charlotte Bobcats will continue their 6 game road trip in Utah tonight to take on a struggling Jazz team with a scheduled tip-off for 9:00 PM ET. The Sportsbooks opened Utah as a three point favorite with a total set at 190. The line on this game is holding steady I think do to the uncertainty of Deron Williams the Jazz point guard. The Total has moved off the opening number and has dropped to 189 at most outlets.

Charlotte (20-26) enters this matchup playing much better the last seven games. The Bobcats are 5-2 SU the last seven games while going 4-3 ATS. The Bobcats are 6-1 ATS the last seven games as an underdog. Charlotte success over the past seven games looks like it has to do with better offensive play. The Bobcats are averaging 98.1 points per game the last seven games which is 4.4 points better than their season average and they are shoot 46% which is better than their 44.9% field goal %/ The Bobcats are 7-1 ATS their last eight road games. Charlotte is 4-1 ATS the last five games following a SU loss. The Bobcats are 10-3 ATS the last 13 games playing on one day of rest. The Bobcats are 4-1 ATS the last five games after allowing 100 plus points the previous game.

Utah (28-20) enters tonight matchup really struggling as of late. The Jazz will now be without their star point guard Deron Williams who is out for tonight’s game. The Jazz struggles have come at both ends of the ball. The Jazz are 1-7 SU the last eight games with their lone win coming over the Minnesota Timberwolves. The defense for Utah is allowing 105.6 points per game the last eight games which are six points higher than their season average. The offense is averaging just 94 points per game the last eight games which is 5.8 point lower than their season average. Utah is 1-5 ATS the last six games following a loss of more than 10 points the previous game. The Jazz are 0-4 the last four games against the Eastern Conference. The Jazz are 2-6 ATS the last eight games as a favorite. The Jazz are just 8-20 ATS their last 28 games overall.

Utah is a very good basketball team. The Jazz are having a great year at home liked usual but they have hit a rough spot and without their star player they are going to have problems getting out of it. Charlotte is playing much better since the separation from Larry Brown and is going to give this Jazz team all they can handle tonight. The public is hammering this Jazz team with 90% of the 396 bets coming in on the Jazz but the books have yet to move off that opening line. Look for the Bobcats too keep this game very close and could easily pull off the upset here in Utah. For the free play tonight grab the Charlotte Bobcats 3 points on the road tonight against this struggling Jazz team.

The Bobcats are a tough matchup for most teams in the NBA with their athleticism (although not as much without Tyrus Thomas now). Should be a good one.

The Bobcats are getting better. Utah is always good. I like Utah to win.

This Bobcats team has really impressed me as of late. They have won 4 of their last 5 on the road and took Philly to OT in a loss before winning those 4 of 5. The Bobcats have stayed within the number 6 of the last 7 games on the road and that one game was their most recent against the Clippers after playing a run and gun game against GS the night before in which 234 total points were scored and went into OT.

Utah is a very good team but something is just not right with this team at this time. Losing games to teams like NJ, Washignton, Golden State. That does not seem like Utah. Even the other night at home against Minnesota they were up by 8 at the end of the 3rd and Minnesota fought back to close that game within 2 and Utah had to fight the last few minutes of that game to close out the win.

I know one thing about sports betting is when teams are struggling fade them when teams are hot jump on board. That is what we are seeing in these two teams tonight. Should be a good game to check out though.

I am taking the Jazz because I go with the better teams in NBA games. This is obviously not a game to bet on with real money. I have the Jazz, but this game is obviously an either way game.
